While the arrival of the wolf in Luxembourg made a great noise and with it significant potential damage (the wolf would have decimated a sheep farm in Garnich), the new Minister of Ecological Transition and ecologist Nicolas Hulot and the Minister of the Agriculture and Food Stéphane Travert jointly authorize the slaughtering of 40 wolves per year as a result of the damage caused to the herds by their proliferation as a protected species.

In Luxemburg, killing a wolf is prohibited by law.
