After 18 years of unchanged visual identity, the image of the Grand Ducal Police required a rejuvenation. Made public at the end of October 2017 by the Minister of Internal Security in person, the new visual identity of the Police has been unanimously acclaimed, it gives indeed a greater modernity to this institution. The changes are not limited to a simple logo change but also a new motto “Déi Nei Police – Zesumme fir Iech”, understand “The new Police – Together for you”.
Before “rebranding” police stations, it is the intervention vehicles that are gradually changing to the new colors of the Police, we gradually see them in our streets replacing the old Police logos.
The arrival of two Tesla S electric vehicles for the Traffic Police also caused a stir. They were asked to start patrols on the Luxembourg motorways in the autumn of 2017, but their commissioning was postponed. According to RTL Lëtzebuerg, the Tesla cars would not have passed the Sandweiler’s SNCA tests because of the non-compliance of the blue light of the vehicles, which pushes back the date of their commissioning on our motorways.
