Heavy good vehicles checks by the Road Police are continuing in Luxembourg. It was last Tuesday in the Schengerwis (Remerschen) area that checks were carried out. The Schengerwis area is located at the border with Germany, near the A13 motorway, and is a favoured transit area for cross-border road transport.

During this 4-hour road check, 17 violations of the transit transport legislation were found, resulting in €250 fines for drivers.

Other taxed warnings were issued, two drivers not wearing their seatbelt, another driver could not show his Eurovignette.

The Eurovignette is a road user charge. Heavy goods vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of minimum 12 tons have to buy the Eurovignette to use motorways and toll highways in Denmark, Luxembourg, Sweden and the Netherlands.
