After the surprise announcement of the presence and sale of eggs contaminated with Fipronil on Luxembourg soil in Aldi stores, the Ministry of Health informs of the presence and sale of these contaminated eggs in Cactus supermarkets.
Caterman and Carnesa received suspicious eggs from their Belgian supplier, at Carnesa the eggs were used in preparations of minced meat and meat pâtés. The minced meat still present is destroyed, the meat pâtés still present are blocked for now waiting for the results of analyses.
For Caterman there is no longer any production on Luxembourg soil.
As of 09 August 2017, the Luxembourg authorities received the results of a routine analysis carried out on eggs taken on 11 July 2017 (2 months before) at a Cactus Supermarket. It is found that eggs with a DLC (consumption limit date) up to 27/07/2017 from the Netherlands 2NL4382501 production unit contain small quantities of ‘Fipronil’ (0.008 mg / kg).
