On Friday, 29 September 2017, the ceremony appointing the new Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Armed Forces took place between General Romain Mancinelli (retiring) and General Alain Duschène, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Étienne Schneider, and the Secretary for Defense, Francine Closener.
General Alain Duschène joined the Army as a volunteer-soldier in 1978 and climbed all levels. He then studied at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels and received a BA in Social and Military Sciences. His mission is to implement the Army’s new organization chart and to continue its modernization.
